Cousins

While Hayley was in the hospital getting a kidney stone removed, Heidi, Heather and I went to Jeffersonville to check out the Carter's outlet. Needless to say, there was plenty to buy. It was overwhelming looking for 5 girls!!! Sophie and Annie got matching p.j.'s to wear. Enjoy the pic Hayley and we all hope you get well soon.

Don't take Sophie to get groceries

Today, Sophie went with me to get groceries. Unfortunately, I had a few other errands to run and Soph took advantage of her T. We were in Elder Beerman and she found several things for several people for Christmas and this dress for herself. She aspires to be a model someday.

Last day of school

One of my Health classes was studying humor and the effect of laughtr on a person's health. We decided to have a project to promote humor and laughter. The students wanted to have a "clown day". Oh boy-that meant we were to dress up like a clown and let everyone laugh at us. Today was our clown day. No one understood what clowns had to do with Christmas. I said nothing--we just wanted to improve our health with laughter. I made a sign to explain our madness and wore it all day. One of my students had a clown phobia and ran out of the classroom. I guess that was a "teachable moment" also.

Christmas decorating

Today, Sophie came to Pa and T's house for the weekend. Pa put up the trees and Sophie decorated them while I got the decor out of storage. Sophie did a great job with the garland as you can see and the ornaments are in such beautiful clusters. She did it all while singing "Deck the Halls". I hope this starts a new tradition so T won't have to decorate herself anymore. We all know that it is not my forte! Maybe next year, there will be some cousins here to help Soph!

Thanksgiving 2009

Well, another Thanksgiving has come and gone. We had a very nice day with lots of great food. Pa and I hosted Matt & Stef, Heidi & Em, Uncle Mike & Kali and Ty, Jessica & Raegan, as well as Grandpa & Linda for lunch. We sure did miss the rest of the family this year. Molly, Megan and Kelsey stopped in for a while to see Em. Grandma Jean and Pete came over for a little while to see Emmalyn and Lori & Ray were here in the evening also. The food was great--especially the noodles which we enjoyed in a new way. Whoever cut the noodles used wide strokes of the knife. They are certainly a new tradition I am looking forward to continuing. Several of us got haircuts in the afternoon, thanks to Heidi. Everyone got a turn to hold Em. We hope next year the Sikoras and Ashes get to join us with all the grandchildren.

Four Granddaughters

Laynie & Emmalyn

Annie & Sophie

Pa is shopping for a playground for the backyard. We are going to have FUN!!!!

The Knisley Family

Little did we know five years ago, that John & I would have 41/2 grandchildren in 2009. Things have been happening very fast. We have either had 2 weddings and a baby, 1 wedding and a baby or 1 wedding and 2 babies recently. How is a person supposed to fit in breathing? We are a bit overwhelmed in a good way. Life keeps changing. We hardly got to experience the empty nest when it was filled up with baby chicks and I do mean chicks!!!!! We love being Pa and T. It is our prayer each night that we will be good examples for all of them to follow. May all of the present and future grandchildren find as much joy in this home as we have when you are here. We love our whole family.
